The TinySEO plans are designed for stores of different sizes and their needs. Here’s what each plan is best for:
- Beginner – best for small Shopify stores and beginners looking for image optimization and SEO audits.
- Advanced – great for mid-size or large stores with a wide product selection that want to optimize both store speed and SEO & GEO.
- Yearly – best for merchants who want to save on SEO features in the long run by opting for annual billing.
- Expert – best choice for large stores and enterprises with hundreds of products and thousands of images.
- Pay as you go – best for Shopify merchants who want to try out basic TinySEO optimization features for free.
The Pay as you go plan has a limited number of features and is free until you reach the credit limit, so you still have to select a payment method to use it. Once you exceed the credit limit, we’d suggest opting for a paid plan instead.

On-page SEO features
TinySEO offers a range of SEO features to optimize on-page elements like metadata and alt texts, to increase your store’s visibility in search engines.
Page SEO optimization
|
What it does: |
Gives you an action-ready SEO checklist for optimizing pages |
|
Good for: |
SEO optimization |
|
Where to find it: |
Improve SEO > Optimize page SEO |
Page SEO optimization helps you improve pages according to the best SEO practices so you can have better chances of ranking higher. It gives you a checklist with items that are marked as passed or flagged for improvement.
The checklist involves basic SEO tasks, like metadata and alt text length checking, advanced SEO tasks like page indexing, and AI search analysis for GEO optimization.
To use this feature, go to Improve SEO > Improve product SEO and click “Edit” by the page you want to improve. Add the focus keyword to get better SEO recommendations.
If you have too many pages to optimize, click the sprinkle icon by the metadata or product information and generate content with AI in seconds.
Metadata updating
|
What it does: |
Allows optimizing or bulk editing metadata |
|
Good for: |
SEO optimization |
|
Where to find it: |
Improve SEO > Update metadata |
Metadata, or meta titles and meta descriptions, is the text that represents your pages in search engine results. If optimized correctly, it helps search engines understand your content and gives users a reason to open your page.
Opening every page to edit metadata can be time-consuming, so TinySEO lets you edit the items in bulk.
Go to Improve SEO > Update > Bulk mode edit, insert the metadata for each page, and click Save. Make sure you follow the displayed recommended character count.
Alternatively, you can click “View details” instead of “Bulk mode edit” and check specific page issues with metadata. It gives you a checklist to ensure your content fits the best meta title and meta description practices.
Edit your metadata until you reach the perfect score and all the checkmark suggestions turn green.
Once you’re done editing, don’t forget to click the “Save” button.
SEO metadata templates
|
What it does: |
Automatically creates metadata from templates |
|
Good for: |
SEO optimization |
|
Where to find it: |
TinySEO Settings > SEO Metadata |
If you have too many product or collection pages, you can automate meta title and meta description creation through templates.
To use this feature, go to TinySEO Settings > SEO metadata. Here, you’ll find a recommended template for both titles and descriptions, but you can customize it however you like.
Once you set the data, click Save.
ALT text updating
|
What it does: |
Enables bulk alt text edits |
|
Good for: |
SEO optimization |
|
Where to find it: |
Improve SEO > Update ALT texts |
Image alt texts, or alternative texts, are short descriptions that convey the image content. They help search engines understand the context of the image, which can potentially improve image search visibility.
Updating each image would take opening each image manually, so TinySEO automates the process with the bulk edit feature.
Just go to Improve SEO > Update ALT texts, choose the page type, and click View. Click the page you want to edit and insert alt texts for each image.
You can choose what pages – product, collection, or blog – you want to edit. The product section will come with a table that shows which products have images that require attention.
To start editing, click “Edit” by the product you want.
Here, you can see all images in one place and edit the alt texts. You can monitor the live character count and click “Update” as soon as you’re done optimizing.
If your store has thousands of images, you can save time by creating alt text templates.
Alt text templates
|
What it does: |
Creates automated templates for alt texts |
|
Good for: |
SEO optimization |
|
Where to find it: |
TinySEO Settings > ALT text |
If you have too many pages with multiple images, you can also create an alt text template.
Go to TinySEO Settings > ALT text and insert the template variables you want.
Our recommended template for alt texts is #product_name# – #shop_name#.
Example: If your store is called “The Clothing Store” and you’re uploading a photo of a product called Black Shoulder Dress, your result would be "Black Shoulder Dress – The Clothing Store.”
If you have something else in mind for your store, use other template variables or contact our support, and we’ll be happy to create custom ones.
Filename templates
|
What it does: |
Creates filename templates |
|
Good for: |
SEO optimization |
|
Where to find it: |
TinySEO Settings > Filename |
Aside from alt texts, search engines look at your filenames to understand the content of the image. So, instead of “IMG_5424.jpg,” it should be something descriptive like “red-summer-dress.jpg.”
Instead of manually updating filenames, TinySEO allows creating templates.
Head to TinySEO Settings > Filename and create a template from the provided variables.
It can be something as simple as #product_name#. Don’t forget to save the changes.
Technical SEO setup
With TinySEO, you get a range of tools that make technical SEO simple even for beginners. You can save time by optimizing tasks without touching code so you can focus on selling.
Automated JSON-LD setup
|
What it does: |
Helps provide structured information for search engines and enable rich results |
|
Good for: |
SEO optimization |
|
Where to find it: |
Improve with SEO > Set up JSON-LD |
JSON-LD is a simplified means for adding structured data to your website. It helps you organize and share website data so that search crawlers can index your content more easily.
Adding structured data to Shopify can enable rich results – Google search results that stand out with extra information about the page, like ratings, pricing, availability, and more.
Manually setting up JSON-LD is a time-consuming process that’s not beginner-friendly. TinySEO simplifies the process – all you need to do is insert relevant information about your store.
Go to Improve SEO > Set up JSON-LD and insert information in the General, Return policy, and Shopping details sections.
You can also add translations for the general data. Once you save the changes, click “Add Theme extension.” You’ll be redirected to the Theme editor, toggle the theme extensions to turn it on, and click Save.
That’s it – JSON-LD is set up and activated. You can test whether your page supports rich results using Google’s Rich Results Test.
Broken link fixing
|
What it does: |
Lets you create redirects or set redirect rules |
|
Good for: |
SEO optimization |
|
Where to find it: |
Improve with SEO > Fix broken links |
Broken links, or 404 errors, can drive your site visitors to leave and prevent search engines from crawling the page – making it not show up in search results.
TinySEO lets you fix broken links through redirect creation or setting redirect rules.
For example, you can go to Improve with SEO > Fix broken links and click “Add redirect” by the detected broken links.
Once you insert the URL that the broken link should be redirected to, click Update.
You can also create automatic redirect rules by going to “Redirect rules” and setting an exact rule to use when TinySEO encounters a broken link.
In the Settings section on the same page, you can enable a default redirect URL when no redirect rule matches or set up broken link reports to get notified weekly or monthly.
Google Search Console access
|
What it does: |
Lets you examine the Search results report |
|
Good for: |
SEO optimization |
|
Where to find it: |
Improve with SEO > Use Search Console > Explore reports |
The Search results report on Google Search Console (GSC) can help identify low-CTR (click-through rate) queries that get high impressions but few clicks or low-ranking pages. This helps you identify opportunities for targeted optimization.
With TinySEO, you can connect to your GSC and explore the Search results report straight from your Shopify Admin.
The top bar shows your main statistics, such as clicks, impressions, average CTA (click-through rate), and average position.
Below the graph, you’ll see a table where you can analyze three dimensions. Here’s what each of them shows:
- Queries – keywords or search terms that visitors type in Google to find your website
- Pages – pages that received the most traffic from Google Search results
- Countries – what places the traffic in your store originated from
Sitemap management
|
What it does: |
Allows submitting or managing sitemaps |
|
Good for: |
SEO optimization |
|
Where to find it: |
Improve with SEO > Use Search Console > Sitemaps |
A sitemap is a file that lists everything on your website, like page URLs, images, videos, other files, and describes the relationship between them. On Shopify, it’s generated automatically.
Search engines use your sitemap to find and understand your site’s structure, so your pages can be crawled faster. If you often update your pages, search engines will also pick up the changes more quickly.
With TinySEO, you don’t have to search for where to add your Shopify sitemap in Google Search Console.
Go to Improve with SEO > Use Search Console > Sitemaps and add your sitemap link.
If you’re not sure how to find your sitemap link, just add “sitemap.xml” by your domain name, like:
https://example.com/sitemap.xml
Once your sitemap is added, you’ll be able to view its status, discovered pages, and most importantly, errors.
IndexNow setup
|
What it does: |
Helps communicate website updates to search engines faster |
|
Good for: |
SEO optimization |
|
Where to find it: |
Improve SEO > Set up IndexNow |
Traditionally, it can take weeks for search engines to discover changes on your website. IndexNow is a protocol that notifies search engines as soon as you add, update, or delete a page.
It’s currently supported by Bing, Naver, Yandex, Yep, and Seznam search engines.
With TinySEO, you can enable automatic URL submission, so search engines are notified about changes instantly.
If you’re not familiar with response codes, you can scroll to the bottom of the page and find all of their meanings listed in one place.
Speed optimization
Optimizing your website speed is crucial to ensure a good user experience for your site visitors, which search engines care about. TinySEO offers several features to improve your store’s Core Web Vitals and page load times.
Image optimization
|
What it does: |
Compresses images without visible quality loss |
|
Good for: |
Speed optimization |
|
Where to find it: |
Improve speed > Optimize |
Unoptimized images can take up a large portion of total page weight and contribute to slower page load times. TinySEO lets you enable automatic image compression, which reduces the file size without affecting quality, helping improve speed.
You can compress both JPG and PNG files and reach 94% or more savings in terms of file size.
Head to Improve speed > Optimize and click Start now under the “New images found” section.
When images are optimized, you’ll see it in the “Recent optimizations” table with the status “Completed.” The Total reductions column will show how much file size was saved.
You can click “View details” by automatic optimization and check the savings of individual images. If you need the original version, just click Restore by the image you want – images are backed up for 30 days.
Image resizing
|
What it does: |
Automatically reduces oversized images |
|
Good for: |
Speed optimization |
|
Where to find it: |
TinySEO Settings > Overview > Advanced image resizing |
TinySEO offers the advanced image resizing feature for product, collection, article, and theme asset images that are oversized.
You can choose the image size from the dropdowns, and the tool will automatically resize the large images it can identify. If you’re not sure which sizes to choose, read our guide to Shopify image sizes.
Asset preloading
|
What it does: |
Loads critical resources in advance |
|
Good for: |
Speed optimization |
|
Where to find it: |
Improve speed > Set up asset preloading |
Asset preloading loads critical page resources, such as above-the-fold images and key scripts, first. It helps site visitors see the page faster, so they don’t have to wait for the whole page to load.
Preloading can be triggered when a user hovers over a link or if preloading tags are added in the HTML.
To set up asset preloading, go to Improve speed > Set up asset preloading and click Activate.
Third-party script management
|
What it does: |
Allows disabling scripts on different pages |
|
Good for: |
Speed optimization |
|
Where to find it: |
Improve speed > Manage scripts |
The apps that you install on Shopify add scripts to your store, which can slow down your pages if they accumulate. TinySEO’s third-party script management lets you control where those scripts load.
Open Improve speed > Manage scripts and toggle the scripts on or off.
For example, if you’re using a product review app, you probably don’t need it on the cart page, so you can disable it.
Lazy loading
|
What it does: |
Loads content only when the user needs it |
|
Good for: |
Speed optimization |
|
Where to find it: |
Improve speed > Set up lazy loading |
Lazy loading delays loading non-essential resources, such as images, until the visitor needs them. It reduces the initial browser requests, resulting in a faster page load time.
To implement lazy loading, web page resources are divided into two types:
- Critical – resources that are loaded immediately and are necessary for the page to show up, like above-the-fold content.
- Non-critical – resources that are loaded only when needed and show up only after the user scrolls to it.
To activate lazy loading on Shopify, go to TinySEO > Improve speed > Set up lazy loading. Just pick the theme you want to enable it on and press “Activate.”
CSS/JavaScript minifier
|
What it does: |
Removes unnecessary code to improve loading times |
|
Good for: |
Speed optimization |
|
Where to find it: |
Improve speed > Minify CSS/JS |
Minification is the process of reducing the size of code files by removing everything that’s not necessary for the code to function. This includes extra characters, like spaces, line breaks, or comments.
When you minify your CSS and JavaScript store files, it reduces the file size, and scripts load faster.
To minify files with TinySEO, go to Improve speed > Minify CSS/JS. Just choose the theme you want, select what files you want to be compressed, and click Activate.
You can proceed working on your store – the files will be ready in a few minutes.
