As of July 2026, TinyIMG is changing its name to TinySEO. What started as an image optimization app has grown into a powerful SEO and speed optimization solution for Shopify stores.
While our name changes, the experience and mission remain the same. Read to learn how we’ve evolved or skip straight to what changes within TinySEO.
Six years in the making
In 2019, we decided to create a tool to solve an important problem: large images slowing down Shopify stores.
We built TinyIMG to help merchants compress images in bulk to maintain fast page load times and create a positive user experience. That’s exactly what the name reflected – making images “tiny” without sacrificing quality.
But as our client stores grew more complex, so did the challenges.
For most merchants, large images were not the only area keeping them from fast performance. They also needed to pass their Core Web Vitals tests, which included enabling lazy loading, reducing CSS and JavaScript files, and managing third-party scripts.
So, we started developing these tools as one-click features that don’t require relying on developers.
Although TinyIMG was growing, we quickly learned that for store owners, it wasn’t speed that was the end goal.
Merchants wanted higher visibility, more organic traffic, and more conversions.
That’s why we set out to expand our focus and make SEO accessible for all store owners.
Over the years, we’ve created SEO features that could otherwise take days to implement manually. We’ve introduced structured data setup, broken link detection, page SEO audits, and indexing management.
We’ve also started preparing for evolving search behavior, creating features like automatic LLMs.txt generation to help AI systems better understand your content.
Today, over 60,000 Shopify merchants use TinySEO to help their stores get discovered.
TinyIMG is now TinySEO
While image optimization remains an important part of our focus, it has become just a piece of a bigger picture now.
Today, our platform’s goal is not only a great user experience but also higher visibility, achieved with a single app.
We decided that the name “TinyIMG” no longer reflects what the app has become. So, we’re changing it to TinySEO.
The name represents what the product has grown into: a tool built to help you make “tiny” improvements that lead to meaningful results.
Merchants no longer need to install separate tools for images, speed, and SEO. We built TinySEO as an all-in-one tool for optimization.

We’ll continue expanding our feature list to help make optimization enjoyable, including an SEO blog builder that’s already on the way.
With 60,000+ Shopify merchants already trusting us to take much of the work off their hands, this is only the beginning of what we’re building.
